Dragon Cave, walking along the trail of the gods

07/02/2017 12:47 PM

This is a view of the Dragon Cave. Located on West Hills near Kunming and overlooking Dianchi Lake, it is a place rich in tradition and symbolism. It is also a place of worship. There is a trail here connecting several of the hot spots. For many years access to this trail was denied because it was reserved for the gods. This is part 2 of what I learned during my short visit to the Dragon Cave in Yunnan. The first part is posted in the community page at StoryPoint.mobi What you could see here is a quick and concise summary of life laced with some advice to follow when you reach success.

Early childhood...

This smooth road represents early childhood. No bumps means no worries. All your needs are taken care of by others. This is just a prelude as this road leads to a gruesome stairway, shown next.

Getting real - the struggle of life

07/02/2017 01:13 PM

...so just ignore the big guy here.. this stairway represents the struggle of life. 73 stairs. A never ending struggle...and with that, success could come, if the gods listened to you and allowed you to transition from fish to dragon (see my other story with that name). So you worked hard, and you made it to dragon, what's next?

Beware of your enemies..

You climbed 73 stairs, you became a dragon. But do not rest on your laurels. You must protect your success and be ready to hit back when needed. This fierce looking god will help you do that. Pray to him for help. Be sure to be on his good side.

Watch your back!

07/02/2017 01:03 PM

Being vigilant is important but not sufficient. Someone can sneak from behind and so you need someone to protect your back. This goddess will protect your back. Pray to her for help. I am looking for an explanation for the red cloth on her head. Interesting to note how male strength was selected to defend against frontal attacks whereas female strength is sought for defending one's back.
